Packers announce major new cap space!
Several contracts have been restructured.

While most of the attention this offseason for the Green Bay Packers has been the status of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, his future with the franchise and his recent "darkness" retreat, the Packers themselves have announced a handful of key contract re-structures.
As first reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Packers have restructured the deals of cornerback Jaire Alexander and linebacker Preston Smith, which will save the team $9.5 million against the salary cap on Alexander's contract and $6.7 million on Smith's contract.
Smith is in the middle of another four year, $52 million deal with the Packers, the second identical contract that he signed with them. He led the team with 8.5 sacks last season, and also has 33.5 sacks for his career.
Meanwhile, Alexander posted 56 tackles, 14 passes defended and a career-high five interceptions in 16 games last season.
