The Super Bowl drought for the Dallas Cowboys has continued this afternoon with a loss in the NFL Wild Card round to the San Francisco 49ers at AT&T Stadium; the 49ers move on to play the Green Bay Packers next week.
Of course, Dallas did themselves no favors by committing 14 penalties, the most in franchise history, which cost them a total of 84 yards during the course of the afternoon.
The Cowboys were able to mount a heroic comeback effort in the waning minutes of the game, which literally came down to the final seconds. The Cowboys were unable to snap the ball thanks to one of the on-field officials literally getting in the way, leading lead official Alex Kemp to soon declare the game over.
And while the Packers continue preparations for their upcoming matchup against the 49ers, head coach Matt LaFleur revealed that his team was already in the process of doing so before they defeated the Cowboys, saying they had already “anticipated” they were going to play San Francisco:
The Packers and 49ers will kickoff tonight starting at 8:15 PM EST.
