The Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings got off to a relatively slow start in the first quarter of their Sunday afternoon showdown but you can probably attribute some of that to Week 1 jitters for both teams that are no doubt still working on their timing after what has been a strange training camp for many.
Once the Packers, and more specifically quarterback Aaron Rodgers, got started however it was a seemingly non-stop offensive display from the Packers. Rodgers led the way with 364 yards through the air and 4 touchdowns, meanwhile running back Aaron Jones had the only touchdown of the day for the Packers on the ground. Davante Adams was the primary target for Rodgers on Sunday with 156 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns, meanwhile Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard both had a touchdown of their own and picked up 96 and 63 yards respectively.
It was a pretty good day overall for the Packers who saw Mike Zimmer's Vikings give up more points than they have thus far under his leadership, but it wasn't all good news however. The Packers also saw a number of players go down due to injuries over the course of the game with guard Lucas Patrick and guard Lane Taylor as well as nose tackle Kenny Clark all getting banged up.
We will likely have more information regarding those injuries over the course of the next several days.
