Dexter Eugene McNabb was drafted by the Green Bay Packers 119th overall in the 5th round of the 1992 draft. The fullback only played two seasons for the Packers (out of a three-season career), but his time with the Packers wasn't over. Not by a long shot.
Today it was announced that the Packers have chosen to present McNabb as one of two candidates to join the Packers Board of Directors, the other being Karl A. Schmidt is the president and CEO of Belmark Inc.
“Dexter McNabb and Karl Schmidt will be valuable additions to our Board of Directors,” Packers President andCEO Mark Murphy said. “It is great to add another former player to the Board, especially one who has enjoyed so much success after his playing career, and Karl’s work in growing Belmark has been impressive.”
McNabb is a graduate of the University of Florida with bachelor's degree in sociology, and has worked extensively with at-risk students and as a coach since his retirement from the NFL.
Packers shareholders will get a chance to vote for their new board members at the Annual Shareholders Meeting on July 24.
