Patriots cut pass-catcher to make room for David Harris

We can only wonder what could have been for the former Alabama burner

The New England Patriots were forced to release a high-potential young receiver on Thursday. The move came in an effort to clear roster space for newly-signed linebacker David Harris.

DeAndrew White, a former burner for the Alabama Crimson Tide, was axed by the club after spending last year on New England's practise roster.

As 247 Sports noted, the Patriots are loaded at wide receiver heading into training camp with Brandin CooksJulian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Chris Hogan and Andrew Hawkins just to name a few.

White cracked 500 receiving yards and four touchdowns in both his junior and senior season at Alabama. His 40 catches in 2014 were second on the team, only trailing Amari Cooper's completely ridiculous 124 catches for 1,727 yards.

Harris reportedly agreed on a two-year deal worth a maximum of $6.75 million. Harris, a second-round pick out of Michigan in 2007, is entering his 10th season in the NFL. Last season he recorded 95 tackles. In six of his other nine seasons he broke the 100-tackle mark. Since 2009 Harris has missed just one regular season game.
