The New England Patriots have signed former Buffalo Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore to a five-year, $65 million contract that includes $40 million guaranteed, last March. It was a massive upgrade to their defensive backfield, which we can now compare to the league's best.

In an interview with NFL Network, Gilmore talked about how the transition was from his former team to the Pats:

"I'm trying to get used to my surroundings, my teammates, new coaches. I'm pretty much trying to take it day by day and learn the new stuff."

When he was asked about star quarterback Tom Brady, Gilmore only had positive things to say about his new teammate:

"He plays like he practices. He's super competitive and he's a great quarterback. He is going to make me better for sure in practice."

He also said that Bill Belichick is a very different coach than all the ones he has seen so far, and that everybody lead by his example. He added that everybody wants to get better every day. Gilmore also mentioned that he is really looking forward to training camp and to the start of the season.

Gilmore was selected tenth overall by the Bills, with whom he played five seasons from 2012 to 2016. He racked up 61 tackles, 16 passes defended, one interception and three forced fumbles.
