After the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history, where he scored the game-winning touchdown in perhaps the pinnacle game of his career, James White is ready for another run at the NFL's biggest prize. And he's more than happy to be doing it again with the Patriots.

White spoke with the media today, and had this to say in regards to his offseason after that Championship winning play:

That clutch play, on top of an otherwise outstanding season, earned White a new contract reportedly worth $12 million with $4.69 million in guarantees through 2020.

While fans may have been expecting and extension for White, the pending free agent was apparently pleasantly surprised  when the Patriots came to him with an offer.

I mean, it was a surprising development,” White admitted. “Like I said, I was just going to come out and work hard. They brought the offer to me. I accepted it. But at the same time it’s not going to change who I am. I’m going to continue to work, continue to do whatever this team asks me to do and follow our leaders and our coaches.”

White may have seriously been considering life away from his New England home, but said: “I’m happy to still be here. I’m happy to have more opportunity to be with this team. I’m just very excited to have the opportunity… I just want to continue to work and continue to become a better player each and every day.
