Pittsburgh Steelers ditch safety Scott Nelson
He won't be with the team this season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be gathering for training camp before too long, but one member of the team that won't be there this time around is safety Scott Nelson.
It was announced this weekend that Nelson, who was signed by the Steelers in October of 2022, was officially waived.
Nelson was made expendable thanks to the bevy of options that the Steelers have at the safety position that include Minkah Fitzpatrick, Keanu Neal, Damontae Kazee and Tre Norwood. However, he could still remain a possibility to be signed to the practice squad.
During his college career at Wisconsin, he racked up a total of 125 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, four interceptions, 15 pass defenses, and also managed to score a defensive touchdown.
Are the Steelers making the right move here?
