The Los Angeles Rams are looking to move on from high-priced running back Todd Gurley after the 25-year-old former All-Pro performer had a down 2019 season and they did so on Thursday, releasing him from his hefty contract.
Adam Schefter has confirmed that the Rams have released the running back seeing that they had no desire to pay the remainder of his four-year, $57.5 million extension he signed with the team signed back in 2018.
Gurley remains an interesting options for clubs seeing that he is averaging nearly 1,700 total yards and 18 touchdowns over the past three seasons.
As Schefter points out, the Rams won't have to pay him an additional $10.5 million due today. Gurley is now free to sign with any team.
