Record Breaker Promoted in Washington

The one and only!

The Washington front office has been a shambles for year but today they tried to at least rectify the situation a little bit.

Doug Williams was the first black quarterback to start (and win) a Super Bowl when he did it with the Washington team in 1988. He also won Super Bowl MVP that day in a 42-10 rout of the Denver Broncos.

After retiring from the NFL in 1989, he went into coaching, eventually coaching his alma mater Grambling State from 1998-2003 and 2011-2013. He's been a personnel executive with Washington since 2014 and now ascends to their highest management position within their player personnel department. Here's hoping he can help bring stability to a shaky front office.
