Report: Cowboys not prioritizing Dak Prescott's next contract!
This will do little to aid fans worried about his future in Dallas.
This report will do little to quell the fears of Dallas fans afraid seeing Dak Prescott play in a different uniform other than that of the Cowboys.
According to Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys are placing the priority of Micah Parsons' extension ahead of Prescott's; both players are eligible to become free agents following the 2024 season.
“The Cowboys are putting Lamb’s contract extension talks ahead of quarterback Dak Prescott’s,” Watkins said.
“He’s embroiled in a contract holdout that’s lasted the entire offseason and the way things are not progressing he won’t report to Oxnard, Calif., next week for training camp,” Watkins continued.
There has been little to no progress made on a new deal for Prescott, who appears content to enter the upcoming season playing out the final season of the contract. Several reports have indicated that he's seeking upwards of $60 million in his next agreement, while he himself has openly stated the financial compensation isn't the issue.
The Cowboys open Training Camp later this week.
