New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard was carted off the field in East Rutherford today with an apparent ankle injury. Initial reports said the young pass-catcher was in tears as the cart left the field, usually a scary sign.
Despite a wealthy passing attack in New York, losing Shepard could be horrible for Ben McAdoo's offense. Shepard is poised for a major role alongsideand heading into his second season.
Making an immediate impact after landing with the Giants as a second-round pick last year, the former Oklahoma standout finished his rookie season with 65 receptions for 683 yards and eight touchdowns while starting all 16 games.
