Eddie Lacy's weight problems are well known throughout the league: they kept him from reaching his full potential during his time with the Green Bay Packers. Well, the Seattle Seahawks have decided to give their new running back a little incentive to get back in shape...
Lacy earned a bonus of $55,000 for being under 255 pounds. As a matter of fact, he weighed in at 253 pounds earlier today. According to ESPN, "Lacy's contract with the Seahawks contains seven potential weight bonuses worth a total of $385,000. Per a league source, the next weigh-in will be on June 12 and requires him to be at 250 pounds or less."
TMZ Sports reports that he "reportedly blew up to 267 during the off-season."
It did not take long before the fans voiced their thoughts on Twitter about his hefty bonus.
Lacy has struggled with his weight in the past years, which definitely had a negative effect on his career. He was only able to play five games last season, in which he did not record a single touchdown. That ultimately led to his release from the Packers.
