The up and down season for Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came to an unceremonious end earlier this month at the hands of Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys at Raymond James Stadium. After the game was over, speculation immediately began to build over what 45 year old quarterback Tom Brady, who looked much more his age over the course of the year, would do next.
He's been tied to the likes of the Las Vegas Raiders, while there are also rumors that he may in fact simply go through with retirement (and stay retired this time, unlike his decision a year ago to return to the NFL). But what does his former longtime teammate with the Patriots and later the Bucs in Rob Gronkowski think that the future Hall of Fame quarterback is going to do?
During an appearance on NSPN – Champa Bay TV, Gronkowski stated his belief that Brady is more likely to return to the Bucs rather than join the Raiders.
“The Bucs versus the Raiders? Oh man,” Gronkowski responded. “What one’s more likely? I would say the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I mean, he’s been there now for three years. It’s just such a great organization. They got such great people in the front office. So, if I had to take a guess right now over those two, I would just say the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.”
However, Gronkowski doesn't see retirement in Brady's future - at least, not yet.
“Everyone wants to know about Tom Brady’s future, and I don’t even think Tom knows what his future holds right now. But let me tell you this, he was top-five in passing yards last season, he can still play the game,” Gronkowski said.
“Let me tell you, it’s going to be whatever situation intrigues him the most,” he continued. “Whatever opportunity makes him the most excited to play the game of football, that’s where he will be next year.”
What do you think Brady will ultimately decide to do?
