It’s done. Adam Schefter has just reported that the New England Patriots have just traded Rob Gronkowski and a seventh-round pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a fourth-round pick.
The move is pending a physical of Gronk.
Retired since 2018, Gronkowski had not completely rejected the idea of making an NFL comeback alongside Tom Brady with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier on Tuesday. Insider Ian Rapoport later explained that the Buccs and New England have been discussing a trade, and this could happen within 24 hours.
He was right again.
"Gronk" is currently under contract to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He also holds the 24/7 belt he obtained at the WrestleMania 36 gala earlier in April.
In the NFL, Gronkowski recorded 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns between 2010 and 2018. He won the Super Bowl three times with the Patriots and has been invited to the Pro Bowl five times.
