It appears that Rob Gronkowski's injured knee is only the tip of the iceberg.
According to Tom E. Curran of CSN New England, the Patriots' tight end suffered a recent back injury, and that ailment is the more pressing concern heading into Saturday's divisional-round game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
'Gronk' has a history of back issues dating back to his time in college and he remains listed as questionable, although the Patriots expect him to play through the pain.
The NFL's most dominant tight end is a crucial piece to the Pats' offense, and although the return of receivers Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola should relieve some of the pressure, Gronkowski's presence can not be understated.
How limited Gronkowski will be for this game has yet to be known, but a player like Gronk is better than most even while dealing with multiple injuries.
