According to the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero:
Xanders has been with the Detroit Lions as a Senior Personnel Executive since 2013, but served with the Broncos for five seasons between 2009 and 2012.
Four of those five seasons he was the team's General Manager, where he showed himself to be adept at drafting quality talent, and reorganizing a roster via trades and free agency.
If this rumor is true, then the question must be asked: what is going to happen to the Ram's current GM, Les Snead?
Snead has been with the Rams as their GM since 2012, but has taken some heavy criticism lately. Former coach Jeff Fisher blamed Snead for the loss of free agents Janoris Jenkins to the New York Giants and Rodney McLeod to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Many expected Snead would be terminated shortly after Fisher was let go, and that prediction may still bear some fruit if these rumors end up being true.
There aren't too many Rams fans out there who think Snead should still be with the team, so if they do replace him it will be a welcome move no matter who they pick.
Xanders can take some credit for the Broncos recent success, even after his departure. His value in Detroit may not be able to be fully grasped for another few seasons, but can he work similar magic if he's given a chance for the Rams?
As long as they get rid of Snead, does it really matter?
