Two interesting reports coming out today: 1) Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden, out of coaching for nine years now, is reportedly contacting folks as he looks to build up his coaching staff. And 2) He's probably going to take Dirk Koetter's job.
Both of these scenarios are likely true. Tampa Bay is awful, and Koetter doesn't exactly strike us as a charismatic leader, particularly after the Bucs were the source of HBO's Hard Knocks earlier this year.
Per NBC Sports, "Gruden has reached out to former assistants and friends in the coaching business to see if they’d be interested in joining his staff if he takes another head-coaching job, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports."
Moreover, Gruden is reportedly eyeing Tampa Bay as his destination of choice, given his obvious connections to the city and franchise.
