Shocking details from Cowboys' DE Sam Williams accident
This could have been far worse.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams was involved in a car accident last week and hospitalized as a precaution, though the important news is that he escaped the incident without suffering any serious injury. However, the same cannot be said about his brand new Corvette C8 Stingray sports car.
The entire drivers side of the vehicle was demolished, and Williams knows that he could have suffered a similar fate.
“All I remember is that previous car went by really fast without yielding,” Williams told Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “And then I was driving straight, I guess another car went and I looked over and I was getting hit from the side driver side. And I just held on real tight to the steering wheel and tried to brace myself.”
Naturally, right in the midst of the holiday season, Williams thought of his family.
“I was thinking about my son and his mom. I could have been gone like that fast without seeing them and saying goodbye or anything,” Williams said.
“I think I was like five to six minutes from my house. I look back over at the accident and I am just thankful for life,” the Dallas Cowboys star added.
Williams was held out of his team's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but did play in their most recent matchup against the Titans.
