Pittsburgh Steelers defensive leader Cam Heyward has missed the last seven games of the year after he left the season opener with a groin injury. But ahead of Thursday night's home game at Acrisure Stadium against the Tennessee Titans, the team has announced good news.
The Steelers have officially activated Heyward off of Injured Reserve, and he'll be in action on the field tomorrow night.
“It’s gonna be huge for us,” outside linebacker Alex Highsmith said earlier in the week. “He’s our leader, so having a guy back like that is gonna be huge for us. Definitely can’t wait to have him back. I know he’s been working his butt off to get back for us, so we’re all excited.”
Without Heyward, the Steelers have allowed 5th most rushing yards in the league and the 6th highest yards per attempt. Needless to say, him being back in the lineup will be huge. He has recorded double-digit sacks in each of the last two seasons, and has earned a Pro Bowl appearance in six straight years.
Tomorrow's game will start at 8:15 from downtown Pittsburgh.
