The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Thursday that they decided to cut ties with tight end Ladarius Green, only a year after they signed him to a four-year, $20 million contract. Some experts believe this contract is going to haunt them for a while. But dont worry, Steelers fans. Jesse James has a message for you: he is ready to be the team's number one tight end and make everyone forget about Green.
According to 247 Sports, James said he definitely enjoyed being the team's starting tight end last season. He looks to continue to improve himself in hopes to have an even better 2017 season.
James also commented on his relationship with QB Ben Roethlisberger:
"He keeps your confidence up. He’ll keep going to you. If you’re open, he’s going to throw it to you. That’s what makes him a great quarterback. I think its pretty fun to work with Ben. He loves his guys, trusts them and wants them to be able to make plays.”
The 6'7", 261-pound young man recorded 39 receptions and three touchdowns in 2016. He caught 11 more passes for 137 yards in the playoffs.
