The Pittsburgh Steelers took care of business against the Detroit Lions in their preseason finale yesterday, winning by a 19-9 final score and subsequently turning their attention to the upcoming regular season that will kick off on September 11.
Fans may have noticed that it was running back Najee Harris making his preseason debut yesterday afternoon, in which he ran four times for 10 yards while also hauling in three passes for a total of 11 yards.
But before the game, he revealed that he's been dealing with a painful injury. He explained that he was diagnosed with a Lisfranc sprain, and given a recovery window of 4-6 weeks.
“I’m just now getting over it,” Harris said, via Joe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “It was getting back in my motions. I was rusty today. It wasn’t a good performance and nothing I should be proud of, either. I need to get better.”
Thankfully, he is still on track to play in Pittsburgh's season opener when they visit the Cincinnati Bengals.
