The Pittsburgh Steelers have on Friday signed Australian punter Jordan Berry to a one-year contract extension.
Per ESPN, the 26-year-old Melbourne product has been at the Steelers since 2015, and boasts a career average of 43.8 yards per punt in the NFL.
Berry -- who is also the Steelers' place kick holder -- was re-signed despite a declining output in 2017; he averaged 43.2 yards per punt in 2017 compared to 45.6 the previous year.
He was set to become a restricted free agent in 2018 before the Steelers re-signed him.
Berry is one of three Australian punters -- and one of four Australians overall -- currently on an NFL roster, with Brad Wing and Lachlan Edwards currently punting for the New York Giants and New York Jets respectively, while defensive end Adam Gotsis is on the Denver Broncos' roster.
