The Pittsburgh Steelers have already made a pair of franchise altering moves this week, signing former Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, and following that up by their stunning trade of Kenny Pickett this afternoon to the Philadelphia Eagles.
And now, Steelers general manager Omar Khan has signed a wide receiver who will be a weapon for Wilson to target this upcoming season. According to multiple reports, the Steelers are signing Van Jefferson to a one year contract.
The move reunites Jefferson with new Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith from their days together with the Atlanta Falcons.
He is a former college football standout, having competed at both Ole Miss and Florida and would then be selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He would later help the Rams to victory in Super Bowl LVI, and has amassed 1,600 receiving yards on 113 receptions with 10 touchdowns in his career.
