Stephen Jones discloses true feelings on Martavis Bryant
The newest Cowboys player can provide solid depth.

The Dallas Cowboys have themselves a new wide receiver in former Pittsburgh Steeler Martavis Bryant, whom they worked out and subsequently signed to a contract.
Bryant is a 2014 fourth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he racked up impressive numbers in his first pair of seasons, a total of 1,314 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. However, he would soon be suspended for four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Unfortunately, he wasn't able to keep himself out of trouble and earned a suspension for the entire 2016 NFL season. In his first season back, he racked up 603 receiving yards and three touchdowns. After a knee injury felled him in 2018, he would be suspended indefinitely by the NFL for a violation of his conditional reinstatement.
He'll be looking for redemption with the Cowboys, and team CEO Stephen Jones believes that Bryant will bring a special element of depth to the roster.
“I think the biggest thing is he [Bryant] brings a body type [6-foot-4, 215 pounds], his size, his speed, his length, the whole nine yards that’s something we just don’t have in our receiving corps,” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told San Antonio’s Sports Star Friday about Bryant. “Nothing against the guys we got here, but we were watching him practice [Thursday] and he’s just about a head taller than the rest of the crew. He’s got a good pedigree. He obviously played and played well in this league before.
“We just thought it was a good use of a practice squad spot. It’s a long season. You never know how the injury bug is going to go. I love our receiving crew, but he has a body type we just don’t have in our receiving corps.”
The Cowboys take on the New York Giants tomorrow afternoon from AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
