One of the NFL's elite receivers may be out for the remainder of the season.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Cincinnati Bengals fear that star wide receiver A.J. Green's hamstring injury is believed to be significant.
Green got hurt on the Bengals' first pass of Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills. The five-time Pro Bowler grabbed at his right leg as he fell to the ground and couldn't put any weight on it as he tried to walk off the field.
Geoff Hobson of the team’s website reports that the team fears he will miss the final six games of the season. They believe Green tore his hamstring, although he will be headed for an MRI on Monday to confirm any initial diagnosis.
The way he was clutching his leg makes it seem as though this may be the worst case scenario. The team seems ready to see Green miss multiple weeks to this injury. The Bengals will learn Monday whether or not he will be lost for the season.
Green was in the midst of one of his best season's as a pro and has 66 receptions this season for 964 yards and four touchdowns.
