Chicago Bears wide receiver Cameron Meredith will miss the 2017 season after being diagnosed with a torn ACL. Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, there could be more issues with his knee:
The pass-catcher was carted off the field on Sunday afternoon's game in Nashville against the Titans.
Meredith, 24, led the Bears with 66 catches for 888 receiving yards last season. His story couldn't be better: a kid from Chicago who played college ball for Illinois State, he was slated by many for a 1,000-yard season in 2017.
This season he was entering the year as a starter opposite fellow youngster Kevin White. Victor Cruz also figures into the mix with former Pittsburgh Steeler Markus Wheaton expected to see playing time as well.
