The Houston Texans were awarded former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Andy Jones off waivers Sunday. They promptly cut running back Akeem Hunt to make room for him.
Jones spent the 2016 season on the Cowboys' practise roster, and it's a fair guess to say Dallas would have welcomed him back to the practise squad.
The Houston Chronicle mentioned that with Jones' addition, the Texans now have DeAndre Hopkins, Braxton Miller, Bruce Ellington and Will Fuller on the roster.
However, Fuller is a candidate for injured reserve due to his broken collarbone. Jaelen Strong is also set to be placed on the reserve-suspended list for the opening game for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy.
Hopkins is set for the first game after being sidelined with a thumb injury during the preseason. Miller is tentatively expected to be available for the opener as he recuperates from a sprained ankle.
