The Denver Broncos are expected to be active in free agency, and they have their eye on a versatile playmaker.

According to Alex Marvez of Sporting News, the Denver Broncos are expected to pursue free-agent running back Danny Woodhead. The 32-year old is currently recovering from a torn ACL suffered at the start of the 2016 season.

It is believed that Woodhead will receive interest from multiple teams, while the Los Angeles Chargers are also believed have interest in re-signing him.

Though small in stature, Woodhead is a valuable change-of-pace back that could offer the Broncos a new element on offense. He is only one season removed from a campaign that saw him make 80 catches for 755 receiving yards.

He is also familiar with Broncos' offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, who coached Woodhead over the last four seasons.
