With backup quarterback Kellen Moore scheduled to be on the shelf for three-to-four months with a broken fibula, the Dallas Cowboys must no turn their attention to finding a suitable backup for Tony Romo.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys' are expected to pursue Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown. The team had originally shown major interest in acquiring Nick Foles, but the team must now look to other options after Foles signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
McCown was expected to compete for the starting job with the Cleveland Browns, but newly-acquired Robert Griffin III seems to be pulling away as the team's best option, making McCown expendable.
The 37-year-old would likely be acquired for a late-round pick.
