McClain's agency, SportsTrust Advisors, confirmed the linebacker will be back in a Cowboys uniform next season.
A former first-round pick of the Oakland Raiders, McClain has started 23 games in his two seasons with the Cowboys. He missed four games last season while serving a suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, but played well for the Cowboys, finished third on the team with 80 tackles.
