The Cowboys made what many may think is a surprise decision with the No.4 overall pick in this years draft.
The team elected to select Ohio State Buckeyes' running back Ezekial Elliott 4th overall in this year's NFL Draft.
Elliott now joins a loaded backfield Darren McFadden, Lance Dunbar and new free-agent acquisition Alfred Morris. The Cowboys elected to draft the best player on the board instead of addressing their thin pass-rush or meagre secondary.
Elliott rushed for more than 1,800 yards each of the last two seasons with the Buckeyes. His average yardage per carry was above 6 in both seasons. He rushed for 23 touchdowns in 2015.
The majority of NFL scouts believe that Elliott is a future superstar that the Cowboys may feature as an every down back capable of competing off the bat. He is a power back, with excellent pass catching abilities, and solid blocking. The 20-year old is sure to be an impact player in the NFL based on all evaluations.
