The latest CeeDee Lamb update isn't good
This does not bode well with Training Camp starting this week.
The Dallas Cowboys continue preparations to begin their 2024 Training Camp sessions, but one player who has been noticeably absent from offseason team actives is star receiver CeeDee Lamb, who has been holding out in hopes of securing a more lucrative contract.
And based on the latest report, Lamb isn't expected to join the team for Training Camp until a deal gets done, despite having racked up over $100,000 in fines for missing the aforementioned offseason activities. He's due $18 million in the final year of his rookie contract, but several other comparable receivers have landed hefty new deals, something Lamb and his camp can use as leverage.
According to The Dallas Morning News, Lamb won't be on the team plane to Southern California:
"The Cowboys charter for Southern California will leave Tuesday. The team will bus from there to Oxnard and are scheduled to arrive at their training site later in the afternoon.
Prescott won’t be on the flight. He’s been in the area working out ahead of the team’s arrival.
Lamb will also be missing from the flight. Club officials don’t anticipate he’ll join the team until an extension is reached."
Last season, Lamb recorded an impressive 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 13 touchdowns. Needless to say, its imperative for the team to get a deal worked out to avoid a massive hole in the offense.
