The Packers have decided to let a promising player go after injuries have marred his development.
According to Tim Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Green Bay Packers have released wide receiver Jared Abbrederis after negotiating an injury settlement for his services. He will immediately be put on waivers.
The decision to cut Abbrederis came after he was placed on injured reserve this week after suffering a thigh contusion last week.
The former fifth-round pick missed the entire 2014 season after being placed on injured reserve prior to the start of the season. Abbrederis played in 10 games in 2015 catching nine passes for 111 yards.
This season, Abbrederis played in five games and caught one pass for eight yards.
