With the Green Bay Packers in desperate need of depth at the running back position, the team will look to a rivals' former ball-carrier for help.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, are expected to sign free-agent running back Joique Bell on Monday.
The Packers are currently without Eddie Lacy and James Starks, which means they are stuck with undrafted Don Jackson and fullback Aaron Ripkowski in the backfield. Wide receiver Ty Montgomery had been taking snaps at running back, but the team is looking for some new bodies to fill the backfield.
A former regular with the Detroit Lions, Bell most recently spent four games with the Chicago Bears. However, he only saw three carries last season. Bell does not have blazing speed, but has proven to be effective in the NFL. He recorded a 860-yard, seven-touchdown season with the Lions in 2014.
