It appears the New England Patriots have found themselves another weapon for Tom Brady to throw to.
The team announced Thursday that they have acquired former Houston Texans' wide receiver Nate Washington to a new one year deal.
The 32-year old registered 47 receptions for 658 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games with the Houston Texans in 2015. While he's accumulated 1,000 or more passing yards just once in his career (2011), he did notch 919 receiving yards in 2013 with the Tennessee Titans and has posted 647 or more receiving yards in his last two seasons.
Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle also stated: "Washington's leadership was instrumental in the locker room."
The veteran wide receiver worked out with the Patriots on March 14 and sufficiently impressed.
Washington is the second receiver the Patriots have added to improve their depth, signing former Buffalo Bills wideout Chris Hogan to a three-year, $12-million contract in early March.
