Darren McFadden has been known for being a bit injury prone in his NFL career, but his latest injury could have happened to anybody.
The Dallas Cowboys' running back managed to remain healthy for the entirety of the 2015 NFL season, but has already managed to suffer a worrisome injury in 2016. Cowboys' head coach Jason Garrett announced on Tuesday that McFadden will miss "a couple of months" of action with a broken bone in his elbow. McFadden apparently suffered the injury in an accident at home, and underwent surgery today to repair the damage.
Cowboys running backs coach Gary Brown released the details of McFadden's injury which occurred over Memorial Day weekend. Apparently, McFadden fell on his right elbow trying to keep from dropping his cell phone.
"He was trying to keep his iPhone S, his brand new one from hitting the ground and cracked his elbow."
McFadden is expected to be back sometime during training camp in August, but the Cowboys don't have an exact timetable for his return. The team remains optimistic that he'll be ready for Week 1 against the Giants in mid-September.
