The Steelers want everyone to know that Heath Miller's decision to hang up his cleats was his choice, and his choice alone.
Shortly following the longtime Pittsburgh Steelers' tight end announced his retirement from football, the Steelers clarified that they in no way influenced his decision.
Old stories have surfaced in recent weeks regarding former Steelers' safety Troy Polamalu, and how the team may have pushed him into retiring earlier than he had wanted. This was not the case with Miller.
Miller, 34, decided to go out on his own terms after 11 great seasons with the Black and Gold.
The Steelers will save $4.4 million in 2016 salary that Miller was due for next season.
Always good to bring folks back to reality. This isn't a Steelers snub. It's Heath's decision. https://t.co/94vEW2dTmK— Ben Anderson (@BenAnderson58) February 19, 2016
