The Pittsburgh Steelers have lost an important player at a position that they can ill-afford injuries.
According to Aditi Kinkhabwala and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Steelers' cornerback Senquez Golson has suffered a Lisfranc injury that could force him to miss 12 weeks.
The 23-year-old picked up the mid-foot injury at practice Monday and was sent for further evaluation on Monday. Golson was a second-round pick of the Steelers last season, but missed the entire 2015 NFL season with a serious shoulder injury he sustained during training camp.
It appears that he will once again miss time with an injury suffered before he even plays a single game.
He was expected to compete for the No. 2 cornerback job in the team's rebuilding secondary, but this latest injury might set him back until the end of October.
