Tom Brady may be on the verge of yet another Super Bowl title, but this year has not been an easy one for him.
Controversy surrounded the start to his season, but he had much more trying issues than the "Deflategate" scandal. CSN's Tom E. Curran reports that his mother, Galynn, has been dealing with health issues for the past 18 months. Apparently her condition has improved lately, but her illness is still a serious concern for the Brady family.
"It's been a challenging year for my family, just for some personal reasons," Brady said Monday, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.
Brady admitted that his mother has been unable to see any of his games this season, but she will be in attendance for Super Bowl LI.
"My mom hasn't been to a game this season. My dad has been to one. That's very atypical," Brady said Tuesday afternoon. "They're going to be here this weekend, that's what I'm excited about."
