Trade: Former first round draft choice traded after disappointing season.

Looks like they gave up on him.

The New England Patriots have consistently found ways to remain competitive and this trade may help them do just that if it pans out.

According to a report from Tom Withers of The Columbus Dispatch the Cleveland Browns have given up on their 2013 first round draft choice Barkevious Mingo, and have in fact traded him for very little, a fifth round draft pick from New England according to multiple reports.

The motivation for New England here is clear, Barkevious Mingo was a promising linebacker when he entered the draft, and if he can find a bounce back under the Patriots system then this will be a trade that could pay huge dividends for the organization.

As for the Browns you have to view this as yet another way the team has found to remain irrelevant, and there's really no way to spin a positive on giving up a former 6th overall draft choice for a 5th rounder.
