Michael Vick and Roddy White are undoubtedly two of the best Atlanta Falcons in history and they will be honored by the team at a news conference this week.
Michael Vick was a lightning rod in Atlanta as his excellent play on the field was marred by off the field crimes that led him to be out of the league for a couple seasons during his prime. Vick was the first overall pick in 2002 and played 6 seasons with the Falcons. In those 6 years, he passed for over 11000 yards with 71 touchdowns and 52 interceptions. Known for his elite running ability, he rushed for 3859 yards at 7.3 yards per carry and scored 21 touchdowns.
Roddy White played his entire career with the Falcons after being drafted 27th overall in 2005 out of UAB. He finished his career with over 10000 yards receiving and 63 touchdowns. His best season came in 2010 when he caught a whopping 115 balls.
Both players were fan favorite and although Vick's off the field issues loomed large over his career, he will always be remembered fondly in the hearts of Falcons fans for his play on the gridiron.
