The Green Bay Packers have shut down two of their better players for the remainder of the season.
The Packers have elected to designate rookie cornerback Makinton Dorleant as its sole player to be activated from injured reserve.
The move means that running back Eddie Lacy and cornerback Sam Shields, who were each placed on IR earlier this season, will not return to play this season. Lacy underwent suffered an ankle injury that required surgery, while Shields has been dealing with concussion issues.
There has been speculation that this could be the final season in Green Bay for Lacy, who's contract is up at the end of this season.
