John Elway led the Denver Broncos to 2 Super Bowl titles as a player and is undoubtedly the best player in franchise history. He's also on his way to becoming the best front office man in franchise history.
Since 2011, he's been the Vice President of Football Operation and since 2012, he's also the General Manager. The Broncos have been one of the league's best teams since then, going to 2 Super Bowl's and winning 1. Not often do great players become great personnel men but Elway is bucking the trend.
And now a new contract is in the works
"The Broncos and Elway are negotiating a long-term agreement that could be finalized privately this week and should be announced publicly before training camp begins July 27.
"We're working to get it done,'' Joe Ellis, Broncos CEO and president, told The Gazette exclusively. "We've had some productive discussions in the last week or so and will keep talking. John's an important part of our organization, and we want to make sure he's here for a long time.''
He'll become the highest paid executive in the league
