When you look at what the Patriots have done with their roster this offseason, it's pretty tempting to call them the most improved team from last year.
That's right, the reigning Super Bowl champions look to have only gotten better this season.
Not only did they manage to hang onto Dont'a Hightower and Malcolm Butler, but they also brought in big name players like Brandin Cooks, Stephon Gilmore, Dwayne Allen, Mike Gillislee and David Harris.
So, among that crop of new faces, which player is going to have the biggest immediate impact for the Patriots in the upcoming season?
According to Tyler Sullivan of 247 Sports, it's undoubtedly the surprisingly recent acquisition of David Harris.
Citing that Harris provides a veteran presence that will allow the younger players on defense to develop without having to step too far out of their comfort zones. The pass rushing unit is also set to see a boon from Harris' presence, as he'll create some extra room for Hightower to be effective, as well as serving as a possible replacement for the injury-prone linebacker.
Down the road it certainly won't be Harris who looks like the best pickup of the 2017 offseason, that will be reserved for the younger players like Gilmore, but it's hard to argue that Harris isn't going to have an immediate positive impact.
It looks like the sky is the limit for a retooled New England team that appears even better than the Patriots' squad that brought home the Lombardi Trophy last season.
