Today NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal released his list of the easiest and hardest jobs in the NFL today.
Inspired by Ezekiel Elliott's claim from last year that playing running back for the Dallas Cowboys was one of the easiest jobs in america, Rosenthal's 2017 list found a place for the Seattle Seahawks' defensive coordinator Kris Richard.
So it being the Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator one of the easiest jobs in the NFL?
According to Rosenthal, it absolutely is:
Dan Quinn and Gus Bradley were both fantastic during their time as Seattle's DC, but they will readily admit how much they benefited from coaching under Pete Carroll with such a deep reservoir of talent. This is a system so proven that the team'sin 2016 was viewed as a down season.
Seattle's latest coordinator, Kris Richard, has done a fine job carrying the mantle for a unit loaded with big personalities. He has the luxury of coaching perhaps the most cohesive, intelligent core of defensive players the NFL has seen this century. It might be a long time before we see a group as gifted as , , , , , and stay intact for five straight seasons.
This is no knock against Kris Richard, who took over the offensive coordinator position in 2015 whenleft to become the head coach for the . The Seahawks' defense has been the defining feature of the team and that's thanks to the hard work and talent of everyone involved.
The longer Richard has one of the NFL's easiest jobs, the better it is for the Seahawks.
