By now, you've heard the news that former Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin was been removed from Super Bowl coverage by NFL Network after a woman accused him of harassment at a hotel. Irvin has since filed a $100 million lawsuit against the woman and hotel, saying that he did nothing wrong.
And now, according to eye witnesses who were around Irvin at the hotel the night of the incident, his allegations that he did nothing inappropriate are correct.
Per one witness: Irvin and the woman had “a positive, friendly conversation. They had a brief interaction, it was 30, 40 seconds, he kept his distance at all times, stood about a meter away from her, they ended with a handshake and he literally turned around and went to the lift.”
Another witness had this to say:
"Somebody that worked there, I don’t know if it was a waitress or a bartender, came up and said, ‘Hey Michael Irvin.’ And he said, ‘Oh, nice to meet you, I’m Michael’ and shook her hand. The crazy part was it was like a 30-second interaction. It could’ve been a minute. I didn’t really think much of it ‘cause it was just a fan kind of thing.”
Irvin had this to say during an interview with 105.3 The Fan shortly after he was removed by NFL Network:
“What law did I break?” Irvin said. “There was definitely nothing physical. … That’s honestly all that happened. Nobody was in my room. It was a 45-second conversation in the lobby, a handshake and we left. … I don’t know. I don’t know what this is, and it’s running me crazy.”
