Tragedy has struck the football world this week.
According to a breaking news report from Newsday, an 11th-grade high school football player at Sachem High School East in Framingville, New York has lost his life after a training drill when terribly wrong.
Joshua Mileto was participating in a log carrying drill, a drill that has been described as one similar to a drill used by the U.S. Navy Seals to help build bonds between teammates participating in the drill, when the log fell and he was struck in the head.
Mileto was immediately taken to Stony Brook University Hospital but unfortunately doctors were unable to save his life and he passed away at just 16 years of age.
We can't even begin to imagine the anguish the Mileto family is currently dealing with and our thoughts are with them in this incredibly difficult time.
