Imagine getting paid to lose weight. Now imagine getting paid $10,000 per pound. That's essentially the dealhas heading into training camp.
The running back is already set to make $2.5 million on his one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, but he can earn that extra cash by losing five pounds in five weeks. He's currently listed at 250-lbs.
Not a bad deal!
It's clear to see that the Eagles are taking Blount seriously, and want their premier running back in peak physical condition before the heavy lifting of the regular season begins.
The Eagles brought him in as a way to take pressure of a pass-reliant offense, and Blount certainly has the chops to handle that role. His 299 carries were the second most across the entire NFL last season, and he racked up 1,161 yards and a league-leading 18 touchdowns in New England.
Blount would be happy to take nearly 300 carries again this season for his new team, and the Eagles appear willing to do just that.
