The Cowboys have lost a valuable starter for the remainder of this game and possibly longer.
According to sideline reporter Kristi Scales, Dallas Cowboys' starting guard La'el Collins will not return to Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears with a foot sprain. Collins appeared to suffer the injury in the second quarter after Bears' rookie linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski knocked Collins backwards, and he stepped on center Travis Frederick's foot as he was backpedaling.
Collins has been one of the better free agent acquisitions by the Cowboys after he went undrafted due to off-field issues. He has since become one of the team's most durable starters and an excellent source of protection for the quarterback. The second-year pro has only missed one game in his career stemming from an ankle issue from last season.
If Collins were to miss any extended time, Ronald Leary would be next in line to fill the void.
